Rebranding as iCoTech Group Ltd in 2019, our founding team has decades of experience in consultancy and project delivery. We pride ourselves on our robust delivery methodology and defined reporting standards, allowing you to focus on your role while we take care of implementing the new technology.

Joel Markham

Founder & CEO

Joel’s entrepreneurial flair was evident from his teens, when he set up an eBay car parts store registered to his family address. Unsurprisingly, his dad had a few things to say when the enterprise came to light – but the experience (and a good anecdote!) helped Joel sail through an interview for a project support officer role at Dŵr Cymru/Welsh Water. It was at Welsh Water, aged just 18, that Joel realised a spreadsheet to log customer issues could be more efficient, so he designed a mini database to record requests and transactions, which was adopted by a number of departments.

Ten years working in senior roles at Lloyds Bank, Babcock International Group and Companies House followed, where Joel was responsible for a range of IT and business change portfolio’s. He observed that everyone had the same view; that projects were always late – and painful! Determined to change this perception, he led a successful project delivery team, using data and historic information to improve results. These methods underpin the way iCoTech works today.

First launching a portfolio project management business in 2012 and refining it to become iCoTech Group Ltd in 2018, Joel now heads up a value-led, agile team committed to delivering at pace and within a competitive budget.

Rob McGoun

Partner Manager

Rob joined the team in September 2020. He oversees our end to end sales cycle and his team will likely be the first you engage with during your journey with us.

Rob has a background deeply rooted in technology and sales, holding various positions in these spaces. He is passionate about digital transformation and is always innovating new ways to deliver value@pace to our clients, applying those same principles in house at iCoTech.

When he is not working, he can be found somewhere out in the countryside enjoying the peace and he also has a keen interest in motorsport, gaming and all things technology.

Mark Goldstrong

Delivery Manager

Mark joined the team in August 2020. He is responsible for managing the delivery and support of all our operational activities. He has over 35 years experience working in IT delivery in global operations. His focus is primarily the internal and external quality and timeliness of our bespoke Microsoft solutions.

He spends his spare time with his two Akita’s and enjoys reading and music.  

Chris Tomkins

Solution Developer

Chris joined the team in August 2020. He is responsible for maintaining and developing bespoke project management software solutions for our clients. His focus is primarily with Microsoft Dynamics (our CRM system) and the Power Platform. He also assists with other projects.

In his spare time Chris tends to spend time with his friends either in Swansea or going away for weekends. He is also an avid gamer!

Matthew Richards

Senior BI Developer

Matthew leads on BI Development utilising his experience with Power BI to provide bespoke reports and visuals to enhance the clients PPM Tools. “Since joining iCoTech in April 2020 I’m really enjoyed the varied projects and new skills I’ve been able to obtain, allowing me to be more effective in the service I can offer our clients.”

Matt enjoys gardening at home in his spare time and finding odd jobs to do to keep him busy. He also coaches youth rugby when he isn’t pottering around the garden.

Lauren Smith

Marketing Assistant

Lauren is a graduate in BA (Hons) English Language and Philosophy and joined iCoTech in August 2020. She has previous experience in Marketing, specialising in social media, as well as customer service and administrative experience in roles at Lloyds Banking Group and Gtech. Her role includes creating marketing campaigns, social media content, creating webinars and other events and writing company blogs.

Lauren also has a passion for dance and musical theatre. She owns a dance school in Birmingham and has taught advanced competition teams in Ballet, Jazz and Tap at Cardiff University. In her spare time she also enjoys supporting her local football team, fitness and running, and going to the theatre.

Aimee-Jayne Watkins

Business Administrator

Aimee joined iCoTech in June 2020 after working in the procurement sector, specialising in electrical components. Her responsibilities are searching for new clients, data entry of our CRM system, processing purchasing requests and introducing new starters to the company. 

In her spare time, Aimee enjoys going to car meets and playing Xbox. She also used to sing and would often get up on stage for competitions.

Mitch Thompsett

Director of Change Consulting

Mitch joined our team in August 2020 as Director of Change Consulting, and is responsible for leading the Change and Project Management consulting area of iCoTech. He has experience of delivering and leading tailored PMO and Change teams across various industries for FTSE 100 companies and SME’s. Mitch started his career at the young age of 12 when he hacked into his childhood savings account in order to start a Fine Jewellery and Luxury Goods business, which he still runs in what little spare time he now has.

His main hobbies are spending time with his family, countryside pursuits, sailing, and motorsport.
